Birthday wishes around our house never seem to consist of the “less is more” concept! Since Derek and I whispered our nuptials in sweatpants, we vowed to start traditions with our kids that would help to merge our young families.
It is not a unique situation to find myself a touch overcommitted. I often try to navigate these situations without causing utter pandemonium amongst the family or their sacred schedules.
I have got to stop listening to talk radio; it only provokes me to do irrational things that I later question. No, I am not building a bunker under my garage, this is worse… much worse. I planted fruit trees!
What a blessing it is to have a platform to inform the masses about better nutrition and to air my petty motherhood grievances all in one eloquent exposition. So the weeds have been having a bumper month in my garden, but my strawberries are wrapping things up for the season. I can resist several of life’s temptations, but strawberry pie is not one of them. I was the kid that never asked for birthday cake; I asked for strawberry pie.
